Luthier question Bridge Pickup Placement

So I have this Kahler fulcrum bridge that allows almost a full 1/2" of extra room between the bridge PU and itself, compared to an OFR. My Jacksons have the bridge PU centered on 23 and 5/8" or 60cm from the nut. What are you guys finding is a good placement for real chunky palm mutes and searing pinch harmonics? Metal stuff, that is. Should I just keep the PU in the same spot as Jackson or would I hear a tighter, more percussive sound by scooting it a bit down? I'm not looking to sacrifice open chords and I'm thinking maybe that'll lead to a thin sound, but I've not experimented in this way. Will be using a Miracle Man, if that's of any help. Iv the guitar you are making is the same scale length as the Jackson and you like the sound that the jackson makes then keep it the same

If scale length is different we can discuss it in greater detail
Moving closer towards the bridge will make things brighter and may well change the overall harmonic content of your sound
Too close to the bridge and things can get too shrill
Too far away and things can get a bit wooly

Yeah, it's the same scale. I found a couple pics of Peavey Vandenberg Sigs that used the trem, and it looks like they're not using the extra space to any advantage/disadvantage. I'm not gonna route it until the pups come in so I have time to think. I do wish my Jackson guitars were sharper and just plain harder in the bridge and they have EMGs in them atm so I guess that's where I'm at with comparing what I have now. What I did notice about the Vandenberg model is that some of them had angled humbuckers, but they were angled opposite what you normally see. The bass side is closer to the bridge instead. That seems cool. Hard rhythms and warmer leads on the bridge PU. I wish I could try one of those out.
