Guitar Project
« on: March 02, 2011, 04:45:26 AM »
First of all, Salutations!

I'm new at this forum =)

I want to order a guitar from ESP's Custom Shop, it will be mainly for Rythm.

The Specs are:

Solid and Thick Korina Body
Thick Quilted Maple Top
No Bindings/Mounting Rings/Pickguard
Contoured Heel and Rib Cut
Deep Double Cut
2 Volume Knobs 500 k
2 Tone Knobs 500 k
3 Way Mini Toggle
Push/Pull pots for Coil Tapping
Tune-O-Matic Bridge with Strings Thru Body
Set Thru Korina Neck (C Profile)
24.75" Scale
22 Stainless Steel Medium Frets
Pau Ferro Fingerboard
Mother of Pearl Flag Inlays
Matching Headstock (PRS Style)
Gotoh Tunners
Gold Hardware
EMG PA-2 Switch
Gold Cover for the Pickups
2 Humbuckers
DiMarzio Air Classic Bridge in the Neck Position

For the Bridge I want a powerful and solid sound. Tight, well defined bass; fat, punchy and juicy mids, present and sweet highs. I want a crunchy and raunchy sound with a lot of harmonics and clarity to open up the sound of the guitar. I like the tone of Satriani, Gilbert, Chris Broderick, Jeff Loomis, Tosin Abasi, Mike Akerfeldt and Paul Waggoner.

My Favorite Rythm sounds are:

Down From The Sky - Trivium
Victorious March - Amon Amarth
Hallowed be thy name - Machine Head (yeah the maiden cover)
White Walls - Between the Buried and Me

Is there a Bare Knuckle Pickup that would work?

Sounds like an Alnico Warpig. Something less, but still powerfull: Holy Diver. One of the best leadpickups from BKP.

I see, I'm actually looking for something more refined actually, not that heavy. Aftermath sounds interesting, also the Emerald

Aftermath and Emerald are two different worlds. The latter for hot PAF-tones, the Aftermath is great for lower tuned chugging. Emerald has quite some topend. I'd still say Holy Diver.

Thanks for the replies. I emailed the guys from BK and they told me to try the Aftermath. Right now the contestants are the Aftermath and Ceramic Nailbomb.
