Does anyone know of any good UK sources for getting hold of guitar templates? I've got some wood available to me and would like to get on with cutting out some guitar like shapes. I'm mainly interested in body templates as I seem to have a little addiction to rubbing sandpaper over curvy bits of wood until nice and smooth.

Look on Ebay for "full size guitar plans". I bought a mess of Gibson ones and am using em as posters!

What are you looking for? Something to print, something already printed or like a real template done up on masonite or mdf?

More specifically it is real templates done on masonite or MDF that I'm interested in. Would be good to know of some sources within the UK that do stuff like this.

custom guitar templates now have a distributor in the netherlands - makes things a bit easier than it was before

Cheers Wez - very handy! I note that a truss rod channel is missing on the neck templates - is this usual?

the truss rod thing?  I have some templates with it, some without - but have never actually used it to route a truss rod slot

i do the route when the neck blank is still square and use the edge guide on the router along the square edge of the neck blank

That's a bit of a coincidence. I am thinking about ordering one of his templates. He has put some very detailed instructions on TDPRI as well. Sounds like a nice guy.

"So with the finesse of a stick of dynamite..."  :lol: That's a really good tutorial. The trick with the piece of copper to protect while drilling electronics holes was good to know. I really need to work with a softer wood. He's taking out a half inch at a time with his router, lol.
