To pig or not to pig a jazzmaster ?
« on: March 08, 2011, 10:04:11 PM »
Hey bkp users ;).

I'm about to buy a fender blacktop jazzmaster. Its routed for a humbucker in the bridge but being a true bkp fan I'm already thinking what to put in there.

I'm looking more for a stoner/big punchy rock tone but with some grunt and unique tone. I know a HD would fatten the sound and get me killer leads but the pig has always been attracting me. With a good use of the volume knob can I travel in between metal, qotsa like tones and even clean ones ?

Absolutely yes (assuming you're talking of the AV 'pig rather than the ceramic). Should be a fun guitar indeed!

warpig can go from jazz to grindcore with the right amp and technique. really diverse pickup. but it always sounds massive- you can never dial that out. Which is good and bad depending on how you look at it
