Really? that's pretty flattering!
as for touring I'm kind of out of touch. The people that stick in my mind are the bad promoters!
You could shoot Rucktion Records an email. They do a hardcore orientated 12Bar show the first saturday of every month. They might have a few contacts they can pass you even if they can't help you out, might be worth sending an email and just mentioning your open to receiving some suggestions.
Maybe try...
http://www.myspace.com/video_nasties... can't remember if I've played for this setup or if they are still going
http://www.myspace.com/mutinymanchester... I think thats Kam. He's been running stuff for a long time now. He used to be involved with Say It To My Face bookings which also involved Marios. I'm not sure if he still does stuff.
I'm dunno if its worth checking out what some venues have on and working backwards to find local promoters... depends where you want to play. the 1 in 12 in Bradford is (if it's still there) some kind of crusty punk cafe venue thing. I can't think of anyone doing stuff in Leeds or Sheffield. Last time I was there was when that madball tour was going on. I was at the leeds show and the kid putting it on kind of flopped it I think, from what I was told by one of the support bands.
It's weird... I'm sure most times I've played a show it's with a new promoter. very few seem to stick around very long. Probably because they don't know what they are doing, or sometimes they are really young and then just get into other stuff. I know a couple of people who do london shows, but usually only if their friends bands are stuck for a date. They don't like the hassle. I think there is a london hardcore facebook group you could try and hit up.
