Picked up a used Sweetback Driver from Main Drag Music in Brooklyn today.

I know it's premature to say that this is the best boost pedal I have ever played/heard, especially since I have several world-class boost pedals already and have not direct-compared them to the Sweetback ... but, I'm going to say it: This is THE BEST boost pedal I've played/heard!!!. I don't plan on using this pedal as a boost, per se, but more as a keep-it-on-to-sweeten-the-tone device.

Without losing transparency, it adds just a touch of width, depth, and sweetness to your tone. When turned off, your tone seems to shrink and thin out. It doesn't thicken your tone like a SHO, however. To my ears, it's more like what the Fulltone Fat Boost is supposed to sound like.

I like his stuff, I've got one of his ghetto stomps and that's a nice pedal. Have you tried the EP booster as I'd be interested in the comparison?
There are 10 kinds of people who understand binary.
Those who do and those who do not.

looks really home made which i love!

Also it sounds very interesting but without clips this post is kinda useless! You can't say it's the best without proving it.

We need some dedicated clips then some A/B clips :)

I said it's the best I've heard. Clips are useless unless you've had my experience and my ears. I've proven it to myself.  Everyone else can step off for all I care! PDT_008

You're slipping Ben - only 5 O/D pedals!

I was with Ben when we found this pedal (actually I was ready to dismiss it until Ben mentioned the name on it).  When we checked it out it reminded me of my Klon a bit.  It has that same push on the amp without changing the tone.
So many pickups, so little time

That's so funny that you say that -- did you see the txt I sent you? I think the same thing -- it's the Klon without the OD circuit. It even overloads the bass freqs at the top of its travel the way the Klon does.

If you're looking for a turn-on-and-keep-it-on pedal, and don't wanna shell out $700-1200 for a Klon, nor do you need overdrive -- this pedal should be on your short list!

Rhino is still there -- it's the brushed aluminum one.

The Tommy Bolin fuzz was, very reluctantly, removed.
