I'm on my way to order a new bridge pickup for my edwards les paul custom
(mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck with ebenholtz fingerboard)
I want to try riff raff or black dog for that guitar, i'm looking for a more vintage pickup that can handle modern metal ok, and iknow after hearing official clips it can.
i have pickups with higher output in other guitars so in this case i will try to let my preamp do the gain
as i said i have other guitars for modern hi gain stuff, but want this guitar to be more versatile to play older stuff when i'm in mood for that. (still want it to be tight, but guess it will not be a problem with neither of them)
right now i have a miracle man in that edwards and iknow the pickup is kinda of bassy and after trying out different guitars with that pickup i know my edwards have a lot of bass, i think mm is to muuch in that guitar, therefore i'm afraid black dog will be to bassy too?
on clips i do prefer black dog voicing but i like riff raff alot to.
i want to replace my miracle man in my schecter c1 black jack
(mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood board)
it's way to bassy and little muddy in that gutiar, and i would prefer a pickup with higher mids, less bass, and still tight bass
i do have ceramic nailbomb in my esp eclipse and i love that pickup but i want to have different pickups in my guitars.
i play mainly thru a engl fireball 100 with v30
play mostley thrash stuff, exodus, annihilator, old metallica, megadeth, iced earth. but also play iron maiden, judas priest, accept and so on, even more hairband ;) i know i can't cover up all with one pickups just wanted to mention what i play.
sorry for long post.
