those telemasters need a CBS headstock. (Tele Deluxe neck I guess)
La la la, still can't hear you.

Seriously though, I think they'd look fine with either headstock but there's something pleasingly aerodynamic about the regular Tele headstock that I like here. Oh and I love the Superjazzmaster, that's a way cool guitar.

Apologies for bringing an old thread back from the dead, but I just wondered if anyone has bought one of the Fender Pawn Shop models yet?

I've been reading reviews and I must admit I'm now starting to get GAS for the Mustang Special.  The pickups are pretty terrible apparently.... but pickups can be rewound!
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I don't think many of those improve very much on the basic '51 design.

The big improvement is where they've added string-through-body loading instead of the Squier's horrible top-loading cheapo bridge. Looks like the new Fenders already have this. I'm running out of reasons not to buy one.

Ah, good point!  I'd completely forgotten the Squiers had top-loading bridges.

The Squier 51 bridge is easy to change out or turn into a three saddle arrangement, which makes quite a dramatic difference.

True the stock 51 bridge is not good, as the strings pass both under and over the saddles, but there are simple replacements. And simple mods you can do too.

Someone had two of them for sale on eBay last week, I was quite tempted (but that was before I knew about the Fender version, so glad I didn't bother).
