Pedal Advice

Looking to add to my sparse pedal collection

Currently have a tuner and overdrive pedal(s)

What should be next on my list? Mainly for classic rock sounds through a Peavey Classic 30 - more after TYPE of pedal than which specific pedal

Compressor?
Delay?
EQ?

I could throw away all my effects as long as I had a decent compressor. But I'm more into the clean stratty single-coil sounds than heavy overdrive.

I'm pretty clueless about specific manufacturers' pedals, but for generic pedal types, yes.... Wah, definitely!

can't go wrong with an old Jen wah, can still pick them up for £60 (ish) and they stomp all over anything new (for a fraction of the price).

Defenitely a wah. If you like classic rock (especially 80s classic rock) you also might considder a chorus.

Delay is always funny to fool around with  :D

Right! I have a at least 15 pedals, maybe more, some lying around somewhere. On stage I use mostly: a wah, a Suhr Riot, a touch of Delay sometimes. And if needed: a Toadworks Dual Boost. The days are over that I took ten pedals and used them all. If you have a good (tube)amp, BKP-loaded guitars and two, three pedals, you're the king.  :)

I'll say that it depends on what you're playing. If it's classic rock then you're spot on, but somehow I can't really see the Edge limiting himself to two or three pedals  :D some might claim he should, though...

My amp has a great overdrive channel and reverb. Only pedals I use are a Boss RE-20 Space Echo and a Marshall Guv'nor Plus distortion.

That's all I need.
