Alright, so some pillock drilled out my mounting screws.

First, a bit of history:

Me and everyone's favorite caveman Madsakre recently swapped pickups. My Painkiller for his C-Pig. Good deal so far! He needed more definition and highs in his Baritone, and I just needed more piggies.

Then yesterday I set off starting to install it in my SG, and to my horror I see that the tech who installed it in Mads' baritone in days or yore, for some inexplicable reason decided to drill out the mounting holes on the legs, making it impossible to mount with normal pickup screws. Seeing as I do NOT want to drill out and direct mount in my beloved SG, I am looking for an alternative solution. A friend of mine suggested epoxy-gluing some bolts on the underside of the legs, and so far this seems like the way out. Have you had any experience with this scenario, lads?

Any help will be appreciated.

PS: And the real $%&#ing travesty here is, that the store where the initial installation was made is the biggest store in Denmark, and the wiring was a $%&#ing bird's nest unlike anything I'd ever seen. Like they say; If you want something done right....

you can solder nuts the right size on to the lugs, above or below the drilled out hole.

i've done this before.

I'm still a bit skeptic about soldering bolts in place, but it works you say? What about in the long run? this guitar will get banged around a lot.

it should be fine - i've done it maybe 3 or 4 years ago and thrown that particular guitar on planes and so on.

you don't need to solder the bolt - just a nut... you can still then adjust the height with the screws.

Good good. That will be the solution then. Thanks a bundle! It will be a whole arseload easier compared to the gluing.

...and that WAS the solution! The pickup is now soundly mounted in my SG and fully ready to violently whatever poor, defenseless amps may cross it's path.
