k guys i've got a stock p-90 in my gibson les paul melody maker. just ordered my BKP-92 with tap to switch between sounds of the '92 and a more '90ish sound. I'm gonna record some stuff with the stock pick-up then the same stuff again when the BKP arrives. What kind of stuff do you want guys? i know there's been barely any p-90 clips if any at all so i'm gonna help you people out.

bare in mind there's no way i could do any thrash-like stuff lol and you've probably made the wrong choice if you want to hear thrashing from a p-90 any way. haha.

anyway yer give me your requests. i'll be posting this in the "players" section as well.

yeah, anything Hendrix/Zappa kinda thing would be great! something showing some really fat chords, some clean stuff, and then some overdriven solo stuff, if you could? cheers!

yep no problem. it was so annoying when i couldnt find any clips of the p-90's so i'll try and help as many people with them as i can. i'll probably upload the stuff with my current pickup and new pickup and the same time when it's installed in a few days.

one thing though- my model of guitar only has one pickup so i won't be able to test the sound of a neck p-90- sorry.

Dont go out of your way( I know how much time it can take doing clips). Something from Revolver perhaps- Taxman possibly but as I am not in the market for P90 ( much as I'd like to be!!)it is not fair to ask you to indulge me. I'd be interested in whatever you do so see what you feel like playing.

well like i said im gonna try and help as many people as i can seeing as there a virtually no p-90 clips at all. ill try taxman then. but i'll probably keep posting more clips as time goes on.

i think ill do:
a bit of all along the watchtower
bit of taxman
some other random stuff like mountain and maybe some bluesy kinda zztop stuff.

still open for requests tho

sambo, How do you find the Melody Maker? Did you compare it to a Les Paul DC faded? I'm after a P90 guitar but am not sure which way to jump.

My brother recently got a Gibson DC faded with P90's and says it's the guitar he's been searching for all his life...and he's been known to go out and buy 3 guitars in 1 day.

haha well i didnt compare it with the dc but it's a really nice guitar. i mean it lacks a neck pickup but i don't really miss that much. it plays really well and pretty good for the money as well. the best feature about it is the crunch you get from the p-90 sound-- so much attack. (that's what i think any way lol)

just out of interest how much is that dc thing???
