Amaranthe - Metal at its best!
« on: April 19, 2011, 12:39:41 AM »
I was talking to Tony about this band that I was introduced to. And I am impressed, they're very good. I love the vocals and the guitar and drums are brilliant. It's just "one of those bands", in my opinion, that you just have to have in your playlist.

Obviously, if you don't like Metal, I guess to each their own!

But anyways; I bought the album and it's on my iPod, but why the topic?

To spread the word, of course!

Enjoy (hopefully): Amaranthe "Hunger", http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9y25snz83ms

dunno if i like that or not. I mean i like some symphonic metal like nightwish and delain, but that's kinda like pop symphonic metal  And it's not like symphonic metal isn't pretty mainstream already (for metal I mean).

EDIT: wah wtf now there's cookie monster

craziness

EDIT #2: that chorus is actually pretty good

Crivens! That's Eurodance synth part!

I, unsurprisingly, don't dig the music at all and then there's the schoolboy video... She IS very pretty though. So redeeming features and all that... Maybe if I though Lacuna Coil were a bit on the heavy side I'd be into this.

Amazing, it even had a Mission Impossible closing shot.

i thought she'd look better with less makeup. It's like they're using makeup to make her look worse

Nice (albeit too short) solo at the end.

I'd have said that was heavier than lacuna coil (what with the cookie monster), though poppier at the same time. It's kinda weird... although..

... I think I like it now

I like more abrasive vocals over the cookie monster thing, but it has it's place. It can be done in a soft or harsh way too, mind. It doesn't always sound like George Fisher.

I like that it is singing. I like singing, better by far than 'cookie monster' vocals, by and large (even though I listen to metal that only nfe, and maybe hth, would consider not the heaviest and most brutal of the heaviest and brutal)

I hate that its poppy autotuned gay arsed shite singing.

it's true that it sounds quite popped out. modern production at its best. i dig if only for that. i,m sure these songs will find their way into clubs eventually.

Not what i was expecting at all...

Sounds like a (very good) Eurovision Song-Contest entry to me. An enjoyable few minutes, but I'm unlikely to go hunting for anymore.

Damn you!!!

I've had that main riff stuck in my head all day, I keep telling myself I'm not suppose to like it but it's growing on me :(

Liking a guitar riff isn't that bad.
