Also making two purpleheart Gibson SG copies...someone has already got their name down on one  :D

I'd like to see pictures of those, even if they're just "in-progress"!  :)

Will the purpleheart retain its colour, I think I read it tends to go brown with age?
I will put some pics on very soon  :) Purpleheart is funny stuff, the wood I have is very purple. It's the resin in the wood that gives the purple colour, if you bake the wood the resin comes to the surface and it turns more purple but uv light will turn it brown.

Intresting to see how your guitar collection has changed over the last few years.  Some lovely guitars there. Though there are a few nice ones I am surprised you parted company with along the way. Are there any that you regret selling?

Oddly enough, after having 50+ guitars pass through my hands, I don't regret selling any of them.  At the time of selling I wanted to move onto something else, and that's always been for the best  :)

In hindsight, I'd have saved a few quid if I'd kept my Gibson '61 SG reissue and a PRS McCarty Korina or McCarty Rosewood.  But then I wouldn't have my current SGR or McKorina Braz so it's all good  :D

I was expecting the Fano to pop up between the seven guitars as I didn't know you sold that one.

Really nice collection, Dave. I'm having a hard time deciding which one I would like the most  :D

Seems to be a lot of love for the blue esquire, but I would have to go for Ruby Tuesday. It just looks so darn sexy!!!

The Fano got traded in towards a PRS Swamp Ash Special (which has now gone) at the end of last year  :)

That's a pity.  The Fano was lovely...... but saying that, the PRS wasn't bad eaither
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

Well as I sold Francine earlier today, I thought I'd update this thread.  My PRS McCarty Korina with Brazilian Rosewood board is up for sale at the moment so I'm down to counting on one hand  :o

Quite a nice spread too:

* An LP type with hot PAF pickups
* An SG type with PAFs
* A Strat with vintage pickups
* A Tele with a vintage bridge pickup and a stratty neck pickup
* An Esquire with a very hot pickup

First up, the working guitars:

PRS Modern Eagle with solid Brazilian Rosewood neck
(my go-to guitar and absolute #1)

Fender Custom Shop '50s Top Bound Esquire
(bought from Ian Price here on the forum and now sporting 50s pinup decals front and rear)

PRGuitars SGR Standard #001
(now fitted with an uncovered DiMarzio PAF in the bridge to match the covered PAF Classic in the neck, pictured alongside my ex-SCR #001)

Then there's the special two:

Fender Custom Shop '58 Telecaster
(Mrs Twinfan's favourite - "Ruby Tuesday")

Finally my very first electric:

Fender Squier '62 JV Strat from 1983
(fitted with David White Old Glories pickups, black pickup covers, knobs and trem tip again like she was in the late 80s/early 90s, and a Callaham trem block as the original stripped)

That sounds like a man that's never had to leave Paisley High Street's Bank Of Scotland with 65K in cash.

In a see through bag.

That they handed over the counter.

Loudly stating what they were handing over.

Still a mighty fine stable of guitars to be proud of Dave. I'm down to 5 electrics too now and can't say I'm lacking any but I would have really loved the McKorina! It's going to be a while before I can buy anything else other than strings so it's a good job I'm happy with my lot.
