Best of luck with it, and hope you have a quick recovery.

oh, and make sure they get the right "testicle"  PDT_008

very dangerous and very ambiguous to say 'right' testicle! This is why before an inguinal hernia repair we have to examine to double check and mark the 'correct' side with an indelible marker before taking knife to skin!

Best of luck

I'm confident in saying the BKP forum wishes you all the best and a speedy recovery.

And lol @ Tony's advice about avoiding funny people and smokers, it's funny but true, ha! :P

the local anasthetics were worrying me. and there were also 3 eldery guys who were going for their second hernia in the waiting room and they said 'just go general, beats having to hear the docs talk and the tools clang up, and i figured, why not?

when i woke up, in my dreams i was selling a guitar in my store and then i heard 'sir don't remove your oxygen mask!' ... mask? oh! over already?

the first wake up this morning is quite stiff! i need to move around to keep flexible. talking is also a pain, i have a very deep voice that resonates throughout my body XD but it's getting better so we can say it was a great success!

thanks for all the encouragement chaps! much appreciated

Good to hear it went well. Having been through it twice I'd say take it easy.In my case it was about 3 days before I was able to move around without too much problem and I played a gig- albeit sat down. Mind you, if you have your folks around you, it doesn't hurt to milk it a bit.

First post on here for some time, but I am facing the same thing.

I have had my inguinal hernia for over two years,it has recently got worse, and hurts more.

Got referred, seeing the specialists on Weds, so I hope they do mine quick.

Feel like an older man at the moment, all trussed up so I can still work and stuff.

Glad yours went well, dont know whether they'll do mine local or general anesthetic, as mines sort of half tennis ball sized.

Ive had stuff done under local it was odd being pulled about with no pain.

Ive had two lots of general, and it made me feel awful

Did they do yours with the mesh or just stitch it all up?

Are you up and about and recovered now?

Tell you what when I'm through I will have to get myself a lighter amp.

I'll treat myself to one :D

I am sure you'll be fine. As I said earlier, I have had two in my time and in both cases, it was a bit uncomfortable but certainly the second time I knew that in time I'd be better than before and it is well worth going through. Try not to do too much too soon and just give yourself time to heal. Best of luck with it.

they did mine with the mesh. i'm doing well and of course the first days are mildly incomfortable but you get used to it and i just take smaller steps! expect your balls to hurt more than the actual surgery however XD that,s what it is for me currently.

Sounds like it went OK for you, speedy recovery.

I might add to this thread if/when I get mine done soon.

I have heard that ball ache is quite common, so long as it doesnt last.

I have also heard that your tackle turns black and blue for a while too

Hate surgery, but hate my hernia more
