Hot Strat pickups! Help me out here!
« on: May 02, 2011, 04:40:49 PM »
Hi!

I'm getting new pickups for my strat and I think I've decided on Irish Tours for the neck and middle.
I hate the regular strat bridge sound though so I'm thinking about getting something hotter for the bridge, maybe a Trilogy suite pickup.

My question(s) is as follows: Will a Trilogy bridge balance out ok output wise with Irish Tours neck and middle?
Is it a good idea to get a Trilogy neck with a baseplate instead? Slow hands for neck and middle? Something else?

I play some kind of alternative rock and some bluesy kind of rock and I like to use the neck as rythm pickup (think Rage against the machine) and want a bridge pickup with enough balls to keep up with that, still a strat pup though.
The guitar has an ash body and an one-piece maple neck.

What do you think?

I have an Irish in the bridge of a Strat and it's a pretty meaty fat pickup. Why not get the whole set ?

With the maple neck, get a set of Slowhands or if you want a more modern tone with extra output get the TS-set.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
