Korina is a funny wood, and it seems to take the middle of the tonal spectrum. If a good Les Paul covers the EQ range of 1-5, an all Korina V or McCarty would cover the range 2-4. Korina seems to lose the very bottom and very top end, but has a real sweetness to the whole range it does have.
Based on that, I reckon vintage-y PAFs are the best option for all round tones. Riff Raffs and VHIIs are probably what most people would like, and I reckon they're the best choice for korina Vs too. The Emeralds are probably a tiny bit too smooth for the majority of people's tatses, but I really like that singing sweetness my McKorina has as I don't like too hard a top end 'bite' :)
