Yeah... b@stards
Pretty much like Twinfan says - you can smoke outside. Me and the missus were at a restaurant on Saturday, sitting outside. Smoking seemed ok there. We were under an awning though, strictly that could count as "inside" but the restaurant didn't seem to think so. The other diners didn't seem to give a monkey's either (mind you, most of the tables seemed to have at least one smoker at some point or other).
I tend to look for the fag butts on the ground (by the way, it's actually illegal to drop butts now, I believe) and I spark up if I can see evidence of smoking. Obviously, if someone else is smoking and world war three hasn't broken out, then I take that as permission to "smoke 'em if you've got 'em"...
Anything inside though, you can expect to spend half your time wondering when the next fag break is, and the other half outside with the other poor schmucks...
I do see the point of the legislation, and I do kind of support it, even as a smoker... But it does get really annoying if the non-smokers start complaining that you keep leaving them and going outside... they don't seem to understand that having a cigarette, now that we are forced to make a choice, is obviously a damn sight more interesting than their company!
