so i restrung my ibanez sz520 this week, and i noticed the screw into my saddle was sticking wayyyy out, so i turned it by my fingers back in, but not too far to ensure it stayed in place. This didnt work.
pre gig tuning up and i noticed my saddle flying off, with the screw AWOL. completely unprepared i didnt have time to fix this so used my backup. But why did this happen? Surely the screws shoulnt undo themselves. note at this point my intonation was taking a back seat, as it has been previously set up about 6 months ago and should be sound. I have found a screw today which conveniently seems to be exactly the right size for the job, so i may attempt to fix this myself for a gig this friday.
If i get it all in position could a strip of black tape behind my bridge hold them in place temporarily for the show? This happened to me previously a couple of years ago, and i spent a whole day of tour searching DIY shops for makeshift screws for saddles. The one in question is the G.
cheers you lovely people!
