Hi and welcome! The NB has quite some agressive uppermids and topendsizzle. That could be a tad too much for bright alder guitars. I don't know which type of music you play and what kind of sound your after, but if you want a contemporary pickup that handles metal as well, but still cleans up great, consider the Holy Diver. This one has more mids and a rounder topend then the Nailbomb. Should beef up your brigt guitar quite nice.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but but following my experience, I certainly wouldn't be putting an A-Bomb in that guitar. I would, however, strongly suggest you look at the Holydiver as a much better option. If you search the forum you'll see I've posted detailed reviews on both the Alnico Nailbomb and Holydiver.

It's going to be a struggle to make Alder into Mahogany but a darker and fatter sounding pickup will give body to the tone. Between the Nailbomb and Holydiver I have absolutely no doubt at all that the Holydiver will do that sound better in your guitar than a Nailbomb.

Definitely look at a HB with enough (lower) mids en no spike in the trebleregister. The Diver has these qualities. More vintagetone: look at Black Dogs and Abraxas.

that sounds a lot more "bombish" than "diverish"

the nailbomb is plenty of low mids
but no pickup will "mahoganize" an alder strat
