Woah, Tim really needs to get the black paint problem solved :?

A full column for a single riff seems a bit too much, but it's his first appearance and he clearly was nervous. The guitar tone was awesome IMO

GW does that all the time. columns explain how the riffs are written but they show 1 or 2 maximum. then they put transcriptions for boring songs (although there's one or two gems hidden here and there)

let's hope he gets used to the camera. but i can tell it's all very clear and instinctive in his head and he can't translate that so well!

I spoke to Misha while he was there, he had been up for about 48 hours straight by the time they started filming. The session was pretty much a continuous 3 hour shoot, because they were strapped for time and needed to film the full 6 month's worth of his column in one go. It's a shame, because he's not camera shy and under normal circumstances is a very articulate speaker. Also, the weird gating effect GW use on the speaking doesn't do any favours to the perceived fluidity of the speech. It always sounds very bizarre on all of their videos...
The pickups are a Rebel Yell/VHII set. The covers were the battleworn black ones, but the neck cover has got quite a lot more weathered due to his very aggressive right hand technique causing the strings to hit the pickup.

I couldn't watch it all I'm afraid, it was just far too irritating listening to him say 'like' every other word. Nice guitar though, except that neck pickup was an absolute mess. When I ordered my pickups I'd initially dismissed the black covers due to peeling but Ben assured me that problem was now solved so I guess his are probably old models.

Quite nice actually, i wanna have double screws on my coming Riff Raff then :) Makes it much more fun to tweak

Perhaps he could consider an extremely dark patina and a metal sealer. Liver of Sulfur is one that reacts with the copper in nickel-silver(which has no actual silver). It is stinky, but there are lots of other products also available that will also give a durable jet black patina. I'm sure he's been down this road though with the forced patina methods used in that stunning camo finish, but maybe not. Haven't heard any camo owners complain of rub off or anything, so why not a jet black patina and a low gloss sealer to prevent further oxidation and up the durability to near plating standards?

I was thinking about a black (not battleworn) MQ for the neck position of my LP, but I'll reconsider. Nice tone tho.
Black Dog (b), Abraxas (b), The Mule (n), Mississippi Queen (n), Trilogy Suite (m)

Had: Riff Raff 7 (b), Painkiller 8 (b)
