crumbs... and indeed, ouch. That's one of the worst things I can think of to happen. I just hope that they can do something.

A friend of mine who used to play guitar works as a sculptor and does a lot of wood carving,
he too lost half of his middle finger and the first part of his ring finger on his left fretting hand...
he's now bass player in our band :D

So it turns out that they were able to reattach his fingers.

Apparently, at the scene of the accident the paramedics reattached them.  Then when they got to the hospital, the surgens took them OFF again, and then did a proper reattachment!!!

F**k me!

He's apparently got some feeling and partial movement, which may improve over time.

Gosh.

That's nasty man.  Thought about buying him a Django CD, that's what they did for Iommi to make him feel better.

When I was a student, my mate was specilising in Bio-medical engineering, so I got to play with dead peoples feet and hands.  It's wired pulling tendons and watching toes curl up......... they do stink after being left out the freezer for an hour or so.

Hope he gets better.

Unfortunately he had to wait 20 years for them to invent the CD player before he could listen to it...  :P
