Im on holiday so I can't get pics of the falcon for at least a week, but its solid red and has off white binding,  the pickups are washburns own "power sustain" humbuckers. Its very dark sounding guitar as is a mahogany neck through and string through with brass saddles. 81 is the newest guitar I've played so I couldnt comment on how it stacks up against newer models but a Falcon will do anything from jazz to metal. and I'd imagine that 30 years of "improvement?" will have changed things quite a bit.

Has it got the brass ring fretboard inlays?  I love that look.

I've been on the lookout for one with the rosewood top and maple through-neck.  They do appear on eBay occasionally.  Only thing that puts me off is they're meant to be really heavy (like many Japanese guitars from the early '80s, e.g Yamaha SGs and Ibanez Artists)
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM
