That's all well and good but what if the one from Thomann is a stinker? A quality Gibson at a decent price that you've actually played and know to be good is a rare beast indeed. I think what I'm saying is "buy it" in my own, ever so subtle, way.

Those guitars cheap LPs have gotten some really bad feedback on the Thomann webpage. In case you don't know, there is feedback on the German version from customers and many have commented that they returned theirs because of quality issues.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII

I agree, but seeing a price like that might give me a little room for flexibility with them

Buy it, the one you've played...

Luckily, I managed to restrain myself when I saw one in a window the other week.

As I was walking along the shop front towards the door to give it a try, I spotted what I was actually looking for but didn't think I'd find anywhere (a Faded SG Bass).

So I managed to reduce/resist GAS on a 60s tribute...

... by buying a bass instead...

(Once a gain, the missus was no help - "Ooo, that sounds nice...")

It'll get ya no matter which way you turn.

I'll concur here and say "Buy it". If I feels right and sounds good in your hands, then that guitar needs you man!

On another note: It's funny how our respective spouses seem to be of no help when it comes to puncturing GAS :D
My girlfriend is also more likely to go "Ooh, that looks cool!" than flat out "no!".

Yeah, get the one you played.  Of course you can buy one from Thomann and return it if it's no good, but it's a lot of hassle.

Gibson aren't renowned for their quality control at the best of times, it stands to reason that the cheaper the model, the more likely it is to be a dud.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

I think you need to play and feel a guitar before buying. Ordering it a Thomann could end in a bad romance.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
