carl martin Quattro

Has anyone tried one?  I'm fed up with my pedalboard, 2 plugs, wall warts etc so just want something really simple with a few quality effects.

What they like?

Never tried one, but I was quite interested in getting one a few years ago, it got good reviews and I think it looks like a good product.

It does have a bit of a "sensible" vibe about it though, not as cool as a board with a load of random pedals....

The original version had tremolo rather than chorus, which appealed to me a bit more TBH.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I know what you mean about sensible, it doesn't do a great deal but hopefullyit does  the minimum well.
Id take trem over chorus as well but I have trem on my PRRI so don't really need it again.

I actually played much better not taking any effects recently which is partly the point, I think the Quattro is so simple it would stop me fiddling around so much.....

Need to try one I think when Sounds Great get stock....

i've been looking at multiple pedals (for want if a better word) recently, and was wondering why i hadn't considered this... then i saw the price

It's not exactly the same thing, but in my internet travels i've come across the wilson stoned grasshopper? I've never tried one, mind, but wilson seems to have a good rep. And the price is a lot less than the carl martin, even if you get hit for customs.

It's It's not cheap but if the effects are decent it looks very good value.  Street price it £330 and for that you get:-

A compressor
Overdrive
Distortion
Chorus
Delay with tap

Which works out at £66 per effect, with the added bonus of not needing a pedalboard, power or patch leads looks pretty cheap compared to separate effects.  Pity it does not have phaser instead of chorus though....

yep, sure. but then you have the problems (which are inherent to all multi-things, and not just guitar fx) that (a) you can't pick and choose, you're stuck with the ones they give you and (b) if the wrong bit breaks, the entire thing might be broken.

I guess it depends on how good each individual effect is, and how badly you need/want each one. I mean certainly if you want/need every single effect in it, and they're all boutique quality, then that is good value, no arguments from me on that.

Just having not tried it I don't know if they are or not

Everything can break down, but I play the Carl Martin Trem-o-Vibe now for 7/8 years and it's never let me down. It's build like a tank.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
