Djent/Progressive metal with aftermath 8

This is my first post on the forum - made this a month or so ago?
Recorded it using an agile intrepid 828 standard - so all the guitar parts came from the bridge pickup - used PODfarm platinum for the distortion and effects etc...

Pretty pleased with it myself - could maybe do with a few tweaks here and there - but any feedback would be much appreciated  :)

good piece, i liked the polyrythyms in the intro and the spacy clean guitar over the riff sounds very effective.very

Sounds good dude, tracking is a tad bit loose, but that's ok, I'm not a super tight tracker either. Sounds like an aftermath, that's for sure. Very nice tones you're getting from an 8 string, usually they sound way to bass and muddy to me, this actually sounds very punchy.

This is fantastic. I like the route you've taken for djent. It's back to the roots and not over the top like everything else I've heard.

i just ordered one of these for my intrepid 8 just wondering did you do it yourself or take it to someone to get it installed? if so did you or they have any trouble installing the pickup? also did you use the original volume pot they came with it or did you change it? lots of question lol but just curious what i am in for when the time comes to get it installed.

I did install it myself - it is fairly easy to do as long as you know how to use a soldering iron and follow the instructions found online for the pickup. Was just the pickup that needed swapping, so don't worry about getting a new volume pot or input jack.

The only trouble I encountered was trying to fit the pickup into the hole - In the end I used a metal file to take a tiny bit off the 'ears' of the pickup - I know a few others have made the pickup hole bigger (and covered up any imperfections with a custom pickup surround) - but its up to you.

oh ok fair enough when you say the ears of the pickup do you mean the sides of the pickup or the holes that you put the adjustment screws in?
