Have to ask, at what point does it stop being a guitar and become a new instrument?
Personally prefer this

they should make it like a proper 9 string. 2 more low strings and one higher string with multiscale.

It would probably make more sense to just take a 6-string bass guitar.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

Instead of getting a 9th string it for super low E, it would be easier to drop tune an 8

Why don't you just buy a 6 string and tune that lower and make the 6th string the lowest string?

Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

because, you lose the high strings. Some might argue, tuning that low, you just dont use them, but i like the comfort of them being there in case i might need them, than needing them and they're nowhere to be found.
Also, 8 strings just look so much cooler playing that sort of music :D
another thing, most, if not all 8 strings have their tuning pegs already modified, so the strings fit into the low 2 tuners (up to 80)
i have problems fitting a 62 into the low E tuner on my jackson, so i'd have to drill it out.

I understand the benefits of extended range guitars, it was a (failed) spinal tap reference.
