BK pickups in alder body for old-school THRASH?
« on: June 19, 2011, 02:02:09 AM »
hello,

I'm putting together a Warmoth Star guitar with the following specs:

6-string
Bolt-on, 25.5" scale
Alder body
Maple neck
Ebony fretboard
Kahler 2315 tremolo
1 Volume pot, no tone controls

I like to play old-school thrash from the 80's (Overkill, Megadeth, Venom, Slayer, Testament, Kreator, Metallica, Exodus, Annihilator, Hirax, Dark Angel, et al.)

What pair of Bare Knuckles would you recommend?  I tune down 1/2 step...rarely lower than that.  Also, I'm in need of those "heavy metal intro" clean tones as well.

Thanks!!!
Dean

I would say the miracle man would fit in more with your influences and it does work amazingly well in alder also.

i imagine the Cold sweat would work well but with less bite (i always found it a bit too polite sounding)
