NAD!
« on: June 28, 2011, 11:18:33 AM »
It's a NAD for me and what an amp

Yesterday I bought a used Egnater MOD50! Since I discovered the modular series I have been GASing for a MOD50, but didn't have the cash and they were hard to come by in Europe. A week ago I suddenly noticed one for sale in Denmark where I live so I pulled the trigger on it and at a favourable price I think (aprox. 1200£ for the amp plus VX and SL2 modules). I'm really looking foreward to getting to know the amp and experimenting with different modules.

Only bummer is that the amp came without a footswitch so now I have to get me one of those. Any recommendations as to what I should be looking at.

Sweet! Egnater rocks! I love the way they have tiny knobs / switches all over the place.

Are you going to do a wee review? Some sound clips? That would be sweet... Enjoy :)

I doen't really have anything propper to record soundclips with, but I'll see if I can produce something sometime in the future. I think I need some time to get to know the amp and then I'll see if I can get around to writing a review  :D

Go with a midi controller! If you want two expression pedals for any sort of other gear, the Behringer FCB1010 is a pretty good unit. Seems whenever there's no actual signal, Behringer can do a great job. I had one for awhile and sold it off just because it was very large. I should have kept it as I've found the need recently for another midi foot controller. I bought a Rocktron Midi Mate as a replacement. The Rocktron Midi Mate is smaller, sharper looking, nicer display and has better features, but only one input for an off board expression pedal that you'd have to buy separately. Those are both good units on the affordable side of controllers. Of course, you could always just order a regular footswitch from Egnater and spend maybe half of that for just the pedal, but then shipping and perhaps import taxes would start to close the gap making me feel like having more control is worth that extra bit.

Oh, and nice acquisition!

Congrats, great price!

I have a Randall RM22 on order, smaller but without the Egnater magic.
