Hey guys.

I have an Epi LP that I've been trying to sell for a while for 2 reasons:

1. I don't play it all that much compared to my Gibson and Gordon Smith Les Paul guitars.

2. I've not been getting too much paid work from the studio over the last few months and money has gotten a little low. I've been having trouble finding a part time job to supplement what little money I get from the studio, so I thought I'd let the Epi go to release some money that way.

I've been advertising the guitar in a local ads paper and I had a phone call today froma guy who's interested in coming to have a look at it tomorrow.

I went upstairs to check the guitar over, tune it etc and had a little play on it for the 1st time in ages.

I forgot how nice a guitar it is! I know it's not as expensive a guitar as my Gibson or Gordon Smith are, but it plays and sounds nice and looks good too.

This is the guitar in question:

I already have 2 LPs that have differing pickups in them, and I think a set of Mississippi Queens would work out quite nice in this guitar :D

Just thought I'd ask you guys what you'd do in my position?

It's a lovely looking isntrument, but if the person tomorrow doesn't buy it I'd hang on to it. Have you agreed a price or anything? The less obligated to the sale you are the better really. You can just change your mind, it's your guitar, but I'd be careful about doing stuff like that because people can get really, really pissy about that sort of thing, and it is kind of annoying, but no more than selling a much cherished guitar.

flog the pups and keep the guitar and get some MQs when ££££ allows. That's what I would do, but then i'm reckless.

Ah, MQs, I'm sure they'd sound ace in that, but he's trying to make money not spend it.

The question you really need to ask is what would you sooner in your hands? The guitar or the money? I have a similiar dilemma at the moment as I am tempted to sell one of my PRSs to fund another Tyler.

After being made redundant a couple of years ago I had to make some sacrifices, some of which in reality made no difference at all.

What do you in the immediate future ?

Do you need this guitar or do you need the money ?

Will the money you raise from make that much of a difference, If you need the money to live right now then you know the answer (I dunno if you have any dependants)

If you like it better than any of the more expensive guitars then perhaps you are selling the wrong guitar ?

It may be some consolation that nice Epi LPs are fairly common these days.

I have the guitar advertised at a price in the ad, but whos to say this guy tomorrow won't offer me less?

I've already had 1 phone call offering me £200 next day for the guitar! There was no way I'd let it go for that!

IF I did decide to keep it, I'd more than likely put a set of Mississippi Queens in it when I had the money, as I don't really need a regular 2 humbucker LP :)

I'll have to see how I go with the guy tomorrow and go from there.
