A superb little weekend was just had by myself and Mrs Twinfan  :D

We got the 7pm ferry from Liverpool on Friday night and headed to a great little B&B (manxbayview.wordpress.com) via a chip shop on the promenade at Douglas.

A full breakfast the following morning (Manx kippers!) and off we went to The Garden Party music festival with our packed lunches:  www.thegardenparty.im and www.facebook.com/gardenpartyiom

The whole reason for the trip was to see Davy Knowles again, who headlined on the Saturday night.  Seriously impressive playing and singing as always, with his #1 guitar - a Modern Eagle/Violin hybrid prototype:

Plus his Signature Limited for slide in Open G:

As you can see, I made sure I had a good view  ;)  His support guitarist, Simon Campbell, had a tasty rig - Davy played through the JCM900 on the right with a pedalboard out front until Simon knocked it over      The rest of the set was played through the backup Fender Pro Reverb (out of shot to the right)....

After another hearty breakfast this morning we headed off for a blast round the TT circuit, which was a real eye opener.  How the hell those guys do the speeds they do is unbelievable.  Total respect.

Back to Douglas for lunchtime and a short stop chucking stones into the sea in a little cove:

Followed by fish and chips on the beach, while avoiding swooping seagulls trying to steal them!

Then the 3pm ferry back to Liverpool and onwards home:

That was the most expensive gig I've ever been to, but it's been one of the most enjoyable weekends of my life.  The sun shone for the whole trip and it couldn't have been any better.  I think I'll be heading back sometime, maybe even for TT week one year...

i'm guessing he didn't have his signature pedal?

Looks nice, though, never been but my mum's been a bunch and always said it was nice. Nice weather too, from the looks of it.

I hate seagulls too, they always used to divebomb me when i was in belfast (i think they were attracted by the sunlight glinting on my glasses? o_O ).
