PeteyG / Nolly and the RGA8
« on: July 04, 2011, 10:05:07 PM »
PeteyG did a demo on You tube of his Ibanez RGA8 with Cold Sweat pickups, I believe this was recorded before the Aftermath pickup became available. Maybe someone can tell me, i.e. Nolly, if Pete would now go for the Aftermath or would he stick with the Cold Sweats. I ask this because I require a set for my own RGA8 but can't decide between the two. I'd be playing the same stuff as Pete, djent, Periphery, Animals as Leaders, etc. Thanks in anticipation.

Pete just chose a set of Aftermaths for his incoming custom Mayones 8-string (mahogany, maple neck-thru), though in honesty, I think this is more because he wants to try something different rather than through any dislike of the Cold Sweats he currently has.

Thanks Nolly, I think I'll go with the Cold Sweats because I feel the RGA8 needs a boost in the treble range.

Okay, I lied, Aftermaths were installed and at last the guitar is playable, in fact it's very versatile now. Distortion tones are monster while clean tones are sweet. I think the Cold Sweats would also have been fine but I'm very pleased with the Aftermath results.
