Nailbomb set - more versatile than the others ?
« on: July 08, 2011, 03:23:01 AM »
heya all

Been waiting the last 3 months for my tax refund to pull the trigget on a BKP set . got it yestedray

Been through a few different headspaces with it but nailbomb alnico set seems to be the one thats stuck with me

My band is in the vein of perfect circle or tool . Lots of nice clean with delay and heavy riffing  sections . dynamic rise and fall . some heavy ,some soundscapey stuff . Only guitar player so got to cover all the bases

Seems like the nailbomb is the most versatlile out of the heavy buckers in the range. is that a fair way to read it ?

Its a blackwood body, rosewood fretboard guitar into a mesa dual rectifier

Not a huge fan of ceramic mags ,more of a warmer alncio guy . Replacing a 59 neck and dime bucker in there now. Dont really love the dime. Put it in after my custom 8 died recently before a recording session .

any advice otherwise would be awesome. Got the cash planning to grab a beer and order when I get home

Nailbomb set, or Nailbomb with Coldsweat neck, the NB neck has a woody sound some prefer the CS, I have both and may prefer the CS just a little, you wont go wrong either way.

Thanks Man

Yeah I have read about the CS/NB  combo . I rathered the nailbomb neck clean on the sound clips to the CS so i guess  the woody is for me
