I did a quick search and didn't see any speaker discussion. We can't go forgetting the last piece of the tone chain.

What are your favourite speakers? Why?
What speakers have you been thinking about obtaining?

I have collected 3 Celestion Sidewinder S12-150s and two EVM 15Bs and love how much power they have. It's nice knowing that I will likely never find an amp that will bring them to their knees. The bass response is tight and thick (like the legs of a soccer chick), with a heaving midrange and smooth highs.
They're a great pairing to my down-tuned and Muff-driven sound.

In any case, I'll play: 2x celestion G12K-100 and 2x EVM12L black label in X pattern. I've also got a Celestion 2x15 bass speaker cab into which I added 2x wharfedale 8" woofers, so that completes the full stack.

Celestion Golds are my speaker of choice.  I've got two in a Matamp 2x12, and an X-pattern of Golds and G12H Heritages in my Matamp 4x12.

I've not played anything better for bluesy-rocky tones.

i was dicking around with speakers for a while. then i decided to spend (actually quite a bit) of coin on two second hand mesa boogie theile cabinets with EV12L speakers in. worth every penny - they were exactly the sound I was looking for. originally, i was going to sell one of the cabs to recoup some of the outlay - but I liked the tone so much that I've decided to keep both!

don't get on with Celestions or British style speakers myself - I like the Webers versions of old Jensens or the Patriot range from Eminence, specifically Texas Heats or Red, White and Blues.

I've only ever really used G12H30s for the past 4-5 years! I've played through T75 cabs (marshall 1960s) and they sounded rubbish to me, hollow and weak - in fact my compact 2x12 with the h30s sounds bigger in a band situation especially when you take the back off the cab.

At moment have a matamp 2x10 loaded with celestion G10's which has always been great alrounder for band.(Was running a rocker 30 through that) Now have a 6v6 18-36w MJW roadstar giant combo with eminence wizard (bright red thing) sounds great full sounding, great bass sounds like 2x12. Before that was a orange 2x12 tried few combo of speaker in that settled with G12K 100 and a jensen C12k 100 (weird combo you may say had jensen kicking around tried with c12k and loved it)

I've owned several different cabs, and played tons more. Nothing sounds better to my ears than the humble Celestion G12T75.

Taydens are my speaker of choice at the moment, tried most of the celestions (except the higher end ones) and they didn't cut it for me. I got me a Tayden Brit & true brit in a 2 x 12"...lovely sounding!
Gotta say though, at some point I might try the eminence's as some of those sound ace

Although actually I didn't use the bass cab on that particular recording. Next one I shall insist that all 4 speaker types get used, especially now I have the aftermath (that recording was with the miracle man) :)

I've mainly been using G12T75s and Vin30s, with the heavy favorite being the G12T75. Just this past Saturday I did pick up two new Warehouse Guitar speakers which are supposed to be "improved" versions of both, the HM75 and the Veteran 30. I have to say that at half the price of a Celestion, they may as well dominate. The Vet 30 has more bass, but is not flubby. The grating high-mid spike is not there, but the mids are just as present. Everything I don't like about the Vin30 is gone and the rest is pretty much intact. The HM75 is just wonderful. It's like a cleaner, warmer and more hi-fi version of a G12T75. That high end sizzle the Celestion is known for is reduced, but it still feels crispy. The baskets on these things are thicker than the Celestions. Neither cr@pped out at high volume either. I'm not gonna go selling my Celestions any time soon, but these things are top notch. I get the feeling the Celestions would do a bit better cutting through live and the Warehouses would do a bit better in a recording.
