Ceramic or alnico for a telecaster?
« on: July 31, 2011, 09:50:14 PM »
I've routed out my tele and cut a humbucker shaped hole in the ashtray bridge plate and I'm set on a Warpig.
The guitar as a Warmoth ash body and maple neck parts-caster, it is very bright sounding with standard singles,
I'm going for a very harsh scooped heavy metal tone reminiscent of Metallica, and similar to later Sabbath.

Would ceramics be too harsh in a telecaster?

Loomers main awe is the same as the one you describe. He uses a Alnico Warpig in it. it sounds like a million bucks!!
