BKps on ESP KH-2

The reason I want to change the pickups is that I am really tired of not being able to get a more natural/organic tone. I always hear a buzzy sound out of these pickups. I am looking for something more organic, more natural that does not sound so harsh.

I know this guitar is basically suited for metal but I was wandering if I could put some BKps on it to get a nice Hard Rock ACDC type of sound and not lose the metal capability. I know I should probably just get another guitar, but I'm just no happy with my tone on this guitar.

I am using a single chanel 30W Soldano Astroverb clone so I also want the pickup to clean up pretty well with the volume knob witch the EMGs does not do.

Holy Diver works well in bolt-on guitars and serves classic rock to metal. Alnico will sound way more organic. You will have to tweak the amp, they will have less output then active pu's. And fiddle with the height to find the sweet spots.

I don't need as much output as the EMGs. The heaviest stuff I play is Metallica/Megadeth.
Will the Divers clean up well?

I also forgot one thing, I will be doing coil split.
Will the Divers be a good choice for that?

The Divers are great in splitted mode. It will not be too Fenderish in sc-mode, but will serve convincing singlecoil-tones. Very nice for clean stuff.  Btw, I have a Crawler in a HSS-strat and this one splits great too and is about the same output as the Diver, just has a more hot-PAF voicing.

But why would you prefer nailbombs over Divers?

1. I havent tried divers. Divers, crawlers and rebel yells are the only contemporary pickups i havent tried.
2. Im getting one myself :) The nailbomb has a bit more bite than the diver(from what i understand)

I read a review on the Nailbomb somewhere here and the guy said that no matter what he did he couldn't get the metal tone out of it.
I sounded like my own experience with the EMGs.

From what i understand the alnico nailbombs have good projection and do metal fine, though may not be as tight. I have ceramic nailbombs and they are tight and chunky and do metal in spades!

What do you think of it?

Just a reminder, my main goal is not the tightest BKP.
I want a pickup that does not sound harsh, it has a warm tone and can also do metal.
I know I will lose output, but that is exactly what I want.

congratulations, you described the Holy Diver ;).

Not the tightest BKP, but tight enough for all kinds of metal, warm and singing tone and can also go to extremes with a tube screamer. I love my Diver  :D

The C-bomb does metal, even with a good amp the A-bomb will provide metaltones. But I don't think you want one. It has a dominant topendsizzle which you connect with classic rock like AC/DC. The Diver connects both worlds in a beefy, open way. Cleans up well too.

One last question:
As I was shopping I got confused in some stuff you have to choose for your pickups.

Leg

I am sorry it's my first time changing pickups and I really don't know what to choose.
The only thing I know is that I got to pick 4 conductor if I want to do coil split.
