G Major 2 on a Diezel Einstein

Hi guys! I'm seeking a good advice for a future choice on my gear,  :D
I actually plug a Strat (equipped SSH with Trilogies and an Holy Diver) into a Diezel Einstein, but if this amp gives me nice clean et crunch sounds, its heavier sounds are too dirty for me (even soloing thrash comes to sound weird).
I wondered if the idea of putting an Ibanez Jemini Distortion Pedal in my rig and a G Major 2 (with a MIDI footswitch) in my effect loop would be good. I play songs of Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Dream Theater...
Should I switch pedal, buy anything else than a G Major, or is this choice nice?

are the distorted sounds too dirty as in too much gain or too much "oomph"

if its either i dont think the Jemini will help unless you are planning on just using the clean channel which seems a bit of a waste of the amp.

I would try sticking something like a Jan 5751 in the v1 slot this should soften the sound somewhat but still be able to do the kinda tones you want (this is what i do with my SLO as i found it had too much gain)

The g major is a good piece of kit especially as it can also switch your amp channels along with the fx presets.

It does suck a bit of tone but nothing so major that you cant use the onboard EQ to add it back in.

Another option which keeps your signal entirely in the analogue domain and doesnt suck tone (unless you use the noisegate then it converts it to digital then back to analogue) is the Rocktron Xpression

I prefer the effects on this it just lacks the tuner & channel switching that the g major has but if you use say a Behringer fcb1010 board you can switch the channels along with the presets using this.

I mean I got a pretty cool sound on my roland 20 watts (in every channel) and an sad one on this Diezel (I stopped goin after 12 o'clock gain on the second channel): it's not really a larsen but my notes mixed themselves in each other the tone isn't that much powerful and colorfull as i thought from a Diezel amp (I dont't think its because of the tubes, the Einstein is more vintage than the VH4 and other Diezel, it has less gain and sound compression).
Of course that's wasting the amp, but every professional guitarist (I just checked Petrucci and Hetfield in fact) add a lot of effects on the clean channel of their amp instead of going straight to a lead channel. Does your advice still works (because the gmajor doesnt gives distortions I think)?

those artists use fx such as chorus etc on their clean channels.

they still use the OD channel with a boost and obviously fx for leads.

i arent sure about diezel but most amp manufacturers use cheapo valves and bias cold  in their amps and an upgrade and bias generally yields an improvement.

The g major/rocktron stuff is great though.

I use a boost on the od channel every now and then with the gain set lower on the amp just to tighten things up

Ok so I just got to change the valve (I'll discuss with the guy that makes me that about the right tubes to put, maybe yours could match) and add any of these two pedals! I can already add a boost to my Diezel (the footswitch changes channel and master volumes), but I don't know if the gmajor can alson switch of master to create a boost (instead of adding one from the bank, which is kinda the same  :D)

i think the g major can control up to 4 functions on an amp i arent 100% sure on this though.

At the end of the day thought if you are happy with using the clean channel exclusively with the gemini and various fx that is all that matters as it is YOUR sound.

just experiment a little and see.

As for the valves just changing the first preamp valve(V1) could give you the change you need and will be around £12 and wont need any rebiasing and you can do it yourself just pop out the old and stick the new in.

Either way I'll follow your advice and get the Gmajor :p!
Trying the compression of this one may help me to "control" my lead channel (I hope I can preset a channe switch and a compression at the same time :D).

Basically you can set a number of effects and its just the patch control change that triggers the channel switching that you just set in an additional parameter.
