I made a slightly crazy move a fortnight ago and resigned from my current job.  I had nothing lined up to go to, I just knew I couldn't stay  :o  Being on 3 months notice gave me time to find something, and being somewhat of a specialist meant I had a few options of what to do.

I had an interview yesterday, and within a couple of hours of walking out of the building I found out I'd got the job - woohoo!  It means I'll be living in the Basingstoke area during the week, and back home in Manchester at the weekends.  Luckily I upgraded my car a few months ago as I'll be clocking up a few miles...

Does anyone around the Basingstoke area know the best place to get a flat?  And can you recommend me a gym?

It's about 3 hours / 200miles.  A coffee and a few CDs and it'll be OK  ;)

Well done Dave, must be decent money to make all that commuting worthwhile!

Isn't Ian somewhere round the Basingstoke area?

Yep Phil - you could say the cash is decent  ;)

Missing the lady will be tough, but weekends should be extra special. Plus there's always Skype!

The whole lot presumably, now that there's only five!

Ha ha!  I'll just be taking the Modern Eagle, that's all I play at home.

I need to get myself a laptop, pocket pod and some speakers so I'll start a new thread asking for some recommendations.

On the down side, I'll have to leave YC/DC and possibly my own band too  :(

Philly is right, I'm a Basingstoke man. Whereabouts will you be living?

EDIT - ignore the stupid question. I obviously hadn't fully read your first post!

I think I hate being indecisive.

Cheers Ian - we'll have to have a pint or two once I'm there.  Should be early November  :)
