Yeah, I would guess most of the "others" are single-humbucker superstrats of one kind or another.

Well you can't have my guitar, and if you like telecasters I certainly wouldn't sell it to you anyway (not that I'll sell it to anyone, mind), but that's what I would vote for!

Yep. Btw, I like Esquires, but for the same money I prefer a neckup too, which makes your guitar more versatile, at least for what a do. I roll the tone back en use the neckpu for jazzy stuff too.

A neck pickup definitely adds versatility, I love neck pickup tones.

But having just one pickup makes you appreciate what the bridge pickup can do on its own, and sort of forces you to squeeze more different tones out of it.  And I think there's some truth in the idea that having no neck pickup reduces the magnetic pull on the strings, which adds "something" to the sound.

Anyway, I like 'em both.  :D
