wiring diagram for p90s
« on: August 21, 2011, 01:35:55 PM »
hi there, this is my first post so hopefully this is in the right place! just wondering if anyone can help me find or draw out a wiring diagram for my sg with mq p90s...the plan is to use push pulls on the tone controls, one for phase, one for series. i've found some for humbuckers but getting confused as they also have coil tap and use 4 con wire. so really i'm asking if anyone knows of a resource that shows braid wire p90 wiring (i like the bare knuckle one) but with the other aspects i'd like to incorperate also shown! thank you for any help anyone can give, kind regards, steve.

I know this thread is getting on a bit, but I have a couple of related questions for the regulars here.

I have a pair of BKP91s in my LP-a-like and am considering replacing both of the tone pots with push-pull pots and then modding the wiring to allow for phase reversal on one pickup and also a series/parallel toggle too.  I realise that the mods only affect the middle position of pickup selector.  The P91s are currently wired with stock style braided hookup, so I plan on sending one of them back to BK and having a 2 conductor plus screen hookup installed to allow the re-wire above.

My questions are:- has anyone here used either of these mods singularly or both together with a P90 guitar and if you have do you have an opinion on whether or not the tones available with these mods will be worth the effort?

I was inspired by the recently announced (and BK equipped) Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar, not that I expect any mod to improve my playing that much  :)
