NPD; Whammy DT
« on: August 22, 2011, 11:53:34 AM »
i have a package here which contains one Digitech Whammy DT pedal.  it's a whammy pedal on one side, with a polyphonic detune/capo function on the other.  so basically, it does everything a whammy, a Morpheus Droptune and a Morpheus Capo does, but all in one box.  i'm a little excited about it :)  i'm pretty curious to see if the whammy effects are now polyphonic too.

i've had an XP-100 whammy wah for years, and an Electro Harmonix POG, so this is the next step on my harmony road.
i'll let you know how it goes when i get it unwrapped and plugged in, hopefully this evening

Hmm, let's say "hold that thought..."

i plugged it in, all smile on my face, and switched on the whammy side first just for a wee divebomb, and... nothing happened.  flicking through the patches, i can hear it change programmes, but the expression pedal isn't working.  oh dear.  time for a replacement :(
i had a quick try of the droptune/capo side, and it seems to work very well indeed.  but it was just a quick try, as i just packed it back up to return it.  pretty disappointed, but hopefully i'll have a replacement by the end of the week and it'll be fine.

Hi  8)

This is perfectly normal with Whammy pedals. There is nothing wrong with it. You just have to "recalibrate" the pedal (see page 16 in the little user manual) It only takes 20-30 seconds.

I have the Whammy DT and the same thing happened to mine after some few days. So, whenever the expression pedal stops working, or only works partly, it's time for recalibration. Whether the pedal are brand new or not doesn't matter. These pedals are build like a tank so don't worry about the quality.

Yeah, tiger is right, just configure it.
I own a Digitech RP255, which also contains an expression pedal and one days it stopped working. I was thinking of taking it back to the store first, but goodle quickly spit out that you just had to config it.

So get your manual, do the little work and get rocking!
