NWD New Wallet Day!!!
« on: August 24, 2011, 09:03:40 PM »
My old wallet is starting to show it's age so I thought I would get a new one. After a bit of obsessive researching to find the "best" one I've discovered wallets come in 4 variations:

Cheap funky wallets
Black wallets
Brown wallets
Designer wallets with obvious signs of branding to let the world know you're so rich you will waste money on designer gear and therefore lots people want to have sex with you.

Now all of these either have a compartment for coins or they don't, where the the freaking monkey bananas do they expect me to put my coinage without a designated department. I also do not see the point it spending big money on a generic looking black/brown wallet when other ones of similar looking quality can be had for less.

Anyway, I got me one of these:

I put coins in my pocket and my wallet (with cards and notes) in another pocket. Easy peasy. Wallets get too bulky and make you look like you've a monster tumor if you put coins in them.

I used to have a wallet but now I just keep everything in my pockets so I only loose one thing at a time.

I thought of getting a little clip for my notes, but figured I'd look like a tw@t

You should get one made that says "BAD MELON FARMER"

Thats the same wallet I've had for at least 5-6 years now.  Got some reactions at first, now nobody bats at eyelid; must be loads out there.

nice wallet! i'll need a new one soon. in the past i've gone for cheap funky looking wallets only to have them break after 6 months. last time i got a good leather one and its lasted a couple of years.

I keep my coins in a small leather coin purse, keeps them from messing up my wallet and its contents.
Other than that, I just use plain black wallets. Usually hand me downs from my father in law who seems to buy them in bulk and then gets tired of them after a week or two...

I bought a wallet with a Slayer logo a couple of years ago, in a last ditch attempt to regain my lost youth, but it was too small to contain my season ticket for public tranport, so a lot of good it did me...

I need a new wallet - preferably one stuffed with £50 notes and ready to use credit cards!

I have two wallets - both leather
the first came from Marks and Spencers and has been good for 10 years
My other wallet is my gig wallet , and contains much less stuff - just an oyster card for travel in London, enoughh money for the evening and maybe a couple of business cards.

This makes it much lighter and thinner and easier to stuff into a jeans pocket when at at a gig.

Also after a friend recently got mugged while staggering home after a few beers and had his jaw broken in a fight for his wallet, I decided that not having credit cards and stuff that could be used for identity theft would be a good idea if I was going out drinking myself. That way they can have the £10 in the wallet and my oyster card , but that is where the damage stops.

Wow, that wallet gets bigger when you open it! Amazing!

I've got a (Almost certainly cheap knockoff) Mont Blanc wallet that I was given by someone who'd been to China. I had no idea what Mont Blanc was until someone at work pointed at it excitedly, but then I'm not one to keep with fashion or popular culture :D

It's something other than France's highest peak, then?
