Les Paul style guitar
« on: August 25, 2011, 11:01:11 PM »
I'm looking for some new pick ups for one of my guitars, it's a Vintage V99CS, I'm not sure what it is with this Guitar but I keep picking it up. I've got a few ESP guitars which cost 10x more then Vintage model but I always pick it up first so I would like to upgrade the pick ups give it a bit more punch if that makes sense?

I play anything from Bon Jovi/Kiss/Ozzy to Metallica/Killswitch Engage etc, so looking for something that will sound great for both styles really.

Any ideas?

I'd say a Nailbomb or even a Miracle Man if you tend to play towards the more heavier style. The Nailbomb is still a great metal pickup though, perfectly capable of playing rock too :)

I've been looking at the Nailbomb pick ups, do you know of anywhere I can get them installed as tbh I've never installed pick ups before, I'm based in the sunny midlands and I'm willing to travel to get them fitted.

Just google 'guitar tech' and your local area or surrounding areas. There WILL be a good few.

I've been recommended the Nailbomb for roughly the same style of music.

Where do you normally buy your gear from? Ask the guys in there, I'm sure they might know a guy or two who can do it.

Miracle Man, really.

Nailbomb over Holy Diver, but really MM would be better for everything except Bon Jovi style. The HD lacks the bottom end chunk needed for Metallica.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

This is exactly what i was thinking.

The MM can kinda do bon jovi with some careful EQ but it isnt optimal.

But for the rest its the bees knees
