New Amp for me (downsizing content)
« on: August 31, 2011, 01:31:10 PM »

Got a small amp with big possibilities and tone.

Randall RM22, 2xEL84, taking two MTS modules plus has switchable boost/2nd master per channel.
As modules I got:
1. "The Malcolm" for clean-ish duties
2. "The Judge" for dirrrrrt

It's a very nice amp and I am not surprised it sounds like a big one, just at lower volume. Not cheap but IMO worth the money for the flexibility and GAS/Module fun.

Happy NAD Hunter, It looks good! i might have to look into that as a Versatile (ie can do high gain) / low wattage solution for home and small gigs

Pics prove it happened, clips show its not just a pretty box
Formerly "ManOnTheEdge"

I am rather limited in terms of recording gear at the moment (been moving and stuff is in boxes). But I did some clip of the Malcolm. Pity the mic is farting out on the gainier bits.

For The Judge I refer to someone else's efforts, would be hard to make any better clips than that showing off that module:

Congrats!
I'd love to get my hands on one of Randall's modular amps, but unfortunately I can't seem to find a dealer :(
Another brilliant clip to showcase the judge ( and the main cause of my GAS for this particular amp) :

Congrats! Looks great. I'm thinking about something lowwattage for smaller gigs. I use the Blues Junior now, but something with two channels would be nice. I'm checking out the Laboga Caiman at the moment.

Yes - it's the new version of Guitar Hero

Someone visits Hunter, drinks beer &  picks up the controller and Hunter has to get up and start playing solos

Thanks all for the nice comments. I'm really happy. This is my rig right now. Philly I am still keeping the Cornford, other than that all amps are gone. Ok I also kept the Groove Tubes Trio Preamp, like it a lot for cleans, it's very special.

But for gigging and rehearsal it's now the RM22 with a Wah, a Delay, a Boost and a Phaser.

I like it like that!

Oh and played that GTO again, oh my god this thing kicks all kinds of a$$es!!!

Edit: for ordering, I bought this from HebaSound (www.hebasound.de)
