My band recorded the instrumental tracks for 3 new demos right through the hurricane last weekend; was fun! :)

I'm very happy with the raw guitar tones that were captured and thought I would share, as they feature a variety of guitars, pickups, and effects.

There is no EQ, compression, or rides done to any of these yet; they are essentially what was recorded with the addition of a little HPF.

The amp, speaker, mic, and mic preamp were all the same: EAST Studio 2/Randall iso cab with stock V30, Sennheiser e609, and SSL Alpha Channel respectively

Sounds good so far!

I like the tone of both the Agiles, but the 1 with Lollars sounds even so slightly darker than the other. Could be the pups or possibly the Octave fuzz I guess?

The SG tone is definitely darker than the others, and also has a bit more of a fuzzier edge to it. Really suits the song though imo.

I know it's only a very rough recording but I do like the rawness of the drum tracks and the tone of the bass but think it'd sound even better if it was up a bit more in the mix.

I'm interested to see how these songs play out as you work on them more :)
