Acoustic mix I did for someone

Mixed an acoustic country song for a member of another forum. It came out pretty well, I must say, and was a fun divergence from my usual.

2 acoustic guitars, 1 bass, 1 vocal. My main goal was go cut out the prevalent mud and add some chime and width to the guitars. Vox were bedded down into the mix instead of sitting atop it (they are too wonky to do that in any event).

Niggling details; Bass comes in a bit strong imo, settles in quite nicely, but I'd sneak it in a bit more gently personally. It seems a little unbalanced somewhere round 100-150hz a bit, just sticking out there slightly on some lower notes. Dunno if thats desired/intentional or not. The acoustics sound great and the vocals are really well placed and have a character that fits really well.

Quite welcome. I feel a bit daft telling you such and such is a bit unbalanced when you helped set me on The Path a few years ago and given what you do, but I hears what I hears, hope it helps (if its not too late :lol:).

I happen to agree, and to tell you the truth, I would mult the bass if it were for anything approaching a commerical mix. But as this was a favour for a friend kind of thing, I'm not going to get all crazy over a couple of measures.
