"Not your standard" Guitars

Hey guys, for my next guitar I think I want a kinda unusual one. Not really strange, just one you don't see as much as a Strat, Superstrat, or Les Paul. I was thinking of a Reverend guitar like a Flatroc (has Gretsch-ish Revtron pickups I guess) or possibly a Jazzmaster. I think I can settle for my current guitars, they still get a lot of use so I don't believe they need replacing. As I am thinking of expanding my range, I was thinking or a hollowbody but I have doubts about versatility. Also I don't think I'm tall/big enough to play one >_<
Suggestions?

Played one a few years ago, nice little guitar, very playable and sounded good, more versatile that I expected. But I didn't like the look.

Well, technically, minihumbuckers are humbuckers, and P90 are single coils ;)

I don't have enough experience with miniHBs but P90 are really different from both buckers AND from Fender-type SC. As far as I'm concerned, that would be my next move...

i like mini-humbuckers alot, but they are bright. i find p90s surprisingly bassy sometimes, which isn't always my thing, but it depends on the guitar blah blah ;)

I quite like the Reverends. The basscontour-knob is happening, so if you choose P90's you can mix the amount of bass on the guitar to finetune with the amp. Reverend has a lot of models with hb's, mini-hb's, Gretsch-type hb and p90's, so a lot to choose. Depends on your wishes.

You could the signature model of Jim Adkins from Jimmy Eat World. Itīs the Fender JA-90, a thinline semihollow tele with p-90 PUs and Gibson tone controlls. Itīs also known as the best Gibson Fender ever made.
I am seriously concidering buying one when I get the cash and well, if you could give me some more insight before I spend my money...^^

I had a stage where I fully fell in love with that guitar (from Internet window shopping...)
Loves it because everything about it was different to what I already had with P90s, semi-hollow, nice finishes. But I didn't like the fact that it was an artist model, and something didn't quite buy me over. BUT IM JUST BEING PATHETIC! Haha, I know it's great.

I don't know if it's just me, but IMO Reverends look great while being played but a bit weird when standing up? Almost had a heart attack because I thought they all started looking ugly or something xD I'm okay now haha

Are you just looking for something odd or is there a sound you're after?

I'll take the oppurtunity to direct you to remade guitars, who do a selection of restored Japanese and other oddities. All very nicely priced too.
