Which of these 2 Studio Monitors?
« on: September 18, 2011, 03:10:36 PM »
God, I seem to be buying loadsa stuff recently lol. I just want to know which out of these 2 monitors I should get. I know everyone is going to go straight to saying get the KRKs, due to Behringers reputation, but I can get the Behringer for £50 cheaper and they look very evenly specced, so it's more 'is the KRKs really worth paying an extra £50 if you was to judge them as if they bpth didn't have a brand on, and you didn't know which was which. The links are below. They've both received very high review ratings.

I'll never buy anything labelled Behringer or Bugera. If I were looking for affordable studio monitors, I'd look at Yamaha.

You really can't judge how a monitor will sound based only on its specs, Nephilim. The KRKs are far superior, and it will cost you a lot more than the £50 difference if you get the Behringers only to upgrade them later on.

"Buy cheap, buy twice"

I don't know how you guys feel about them, but over here in the US there's plenty of us who view the powered Wharfedale Diamonds as essentials. Maybe not the main set you listen through in a multi-monitor setup, but certainly not a pair you throw away later if or when you upgrade. Yeah, I know they aren't exactly marketed as studio monitors in the EU, but a few online music companies here have been(or had, haven't checked recently). They have an almost flat frequency response. Just a very small bump in the upper mids.
