Check before ordering, pickups for Caparison Horus
« on: September 29, 2011, 02:08:12 PM »
Hi everyone,

I want to try BKP pickup in my Caparison Horus.
I've been using EMG's last 5 year mainly because I love the "attack" sound but now I want to try something different in this guitar. My gear is Mesa triple rectifier which is soon going to be replaced by an Axe FX II.

Sounds that I like:
Bridge, tight fat sound eg.Scar Symmetry/Disarmonia Mundi/Soilwork
Neck, John Petrucci/Peter Wichers, arpeggios sweeping

For the bridge I've decided to go for nailbomb and the sinner for the neck.
The singlecoil is the hardest choice cuz I haven't heard/read so much about it. How is it compared to Chopper or air norton s?

There are plenty of options when ordering and I wanted to check with you before checking out...

6 String Nailbomb humbucker - Open Bridge
- Bridge Spacing - 53 mm
- Conductor - 4
- Leg - Short (1/4")
- Coil Colour - Black
- Aged Coils/Cover(s) - No
- Bridge Magnet - Alnico V
- Pole Screws - Nickel Screws

The Sinner single coil - Singles
- Position - Neck
- Magnet - Flat Profile
- Polarity - Stock
- Colour - Black
- Zinc Plated Steel base - Yes
- Aged Coils/Cover(s) - No

Hi,

the humbucker options make perfectly sense. The single coil options are OK as well. The flat magnet profile is preferable if your guitar has a wide neck radius. The addition of a steel base plate is said to ncrease volume a little which is good when paired with a humbucker.

Cheers Stephan

I'm chosing between aBomb/Sinner or DiMarzio D-Soinic/Air Norton s and I think I'm convinced that BKP is what I'm looking for.

Cheers
