Jazzmaster vs P90 vs MiniHumbucker
« on: September 30, 2011, 10:31:08 PM »
I don't mean to take too much of your time, but what are the differences? Because it seems from what I've heard that a Jazzmaster pickup is sorta a mix of single coil/P90 but with some MiniHumbucker or something? People say it's jut a warmer Strat sound but I thought I've heard some other tones in there too

The Jazzmaster coil is wider and flatter then a P90 and sounds different. Of course it will sound warmer then a strat. It's closer to a p90.

maybe this will interest you:

No, never had one. I don't like the bridge/trem and all the knobs. Maybe a Jazzmaster can sound good, but the distorted sounds I heard out of it, are on the mellow side. I would me more tempted to get a tele with p90's or Filtertrons/Supertrons. Just my taste.
