Pups for Death and Jazz

Here goes,
I will soon be getting either a preowned prs se custom 22 or a 72  tele, with the intention of swapping out the pups for some bkps.

First of all, which one would you guys go for (wrong forum i know :P). tele is alder i think, prs is mahogany.

Also, what would you suggest for bridge and neck?
For bridge i need something that can give me tight djent as well as brutal death tones.
For neck i want something with warm and rich cleans for jazz, but that can also give me other interesting distortion options.

I'd recommend a Warpig set for either guitar, with the ceramic magnet option for the bridge.

To me, the PRS would be the obvious choice, but maybe you're trying to make a statement with the Tele?

+1 for Warpigs. They're even used for jazz, as the neck cleans up beautifully.

i think im set on the prs now anyway  8)
would the low end be tight enought from the warpig?
I also kind of want a different pickup in the neck, just for a bit of variety

Yes, the ceramic Warpig is as tight as they get. The Warpig neck is not the same pickup as the bridge; it is an entirely different unit designed to complement the bridge in sound and output. It does exactly as you described in the initial post - warm and rich cleans highly suited to jazz playing, while giving a smooth and saturated lead tone under gain.
